ESCC Mammoth Offers Black & White Photography Workshop

June 2, 2008

The Cerro Coso Community College, Eastern Sierra College Center in Mammoth Lakes is offering a Photo Workshop in Black & White Photography this summer, ART C061, CRN #50007, instructed by John Wilson.  Register now, the class begins on Thursday, June 26 and goes through Sunday, June 29, 2008.  In this 1-unit course, students will learn how to make black and white image conversions from their color photographs; how to pre-visualize a photograph in black and white, which is an essential step to making beautiful black and white photographs; compositional elements that are common in great black and white photos; and how to control exposure to yield the tones desired.  The workshop will include five field trips, including various classic Sierra locations and a trip to Mono Lake.  Studio sessions will be held on the Mammoth Lakes Campus.  The cost of the workshop is $20 for California residents.  Students may need to purchase additional materials. 

This is a four day workshop which will be held on Thursday, June 26 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm; Friday, June 27 from 5:00 am until 9:00 pm; Saturday, June 28 from 5:00 am until 9:00 pm; and Sunday, June 29 from 5:00 am until 2:00 pm.
