through IT certification preparation at Cerro Coso Community College.
Two brand new entry level computer technician courses are offered at Cerro
Coso Community College this spring. These courses prepare a
student to become a Comp TIA A+ 2006 certified IT technician.
This course CRN 33381, CSCI C140 “A+ Essentials for Computer Repair” is a 2
unit class that will meet
January 21 to March 14, 2008. This course emphasizes a fundamental
technical understanding of personal computer hardware, setup, maintenance,
and installation in a personal work group environment.
This course prepares students for the CompTIA A+
Essentials exam for entry level IT Technicians and services as a building
block for further certification oriented technical training.
The next course CRN 33382, CSCI C141 “A+ Skills for IT Technicians” is also
a 2 units class. This class meets from March 17 – May 16. The
prerequisite for this course is CSCI C140 “A+ Essentials for Computer
Repair. This course builds upon the technical understanding of professional
computer support and develops competency for troubleshooting in a corporate
network environment. This course also prepares a student for the CompTIA A+
220-602 exam for IT Technicians.
These courses are intended for students to take consecutively.
Learn from two professionals actively working in the Information Technology
field by taking online courses that fit your schedule. Dan Johnson
and Chris Harper will be team teaching the courses.
