7.28 College to Reopen on Fridays
Beginning the week of August 4th Cerro Coso will be open 8am – 12pm on Fridays.
   
7.21 Textbook BuyBack
Don’t miss it! July 28 – 31 and August 4 – 7, 8am – 6pm. Only at the Cerro Coso Book Nook located on the bottom floor of the main building, IWV campus.
   
7.14 Coyote Summer Basketball Camp for Boys and Girls
Grades 2-9    July 21-25    8:30am-2pm    $75.00
Activities include: All of the fundamentals, game terminology, individual and relay dribbling races, hotshot shooting competitions with prizes and competitive games with age groups.  A week of Fun and Learning!  Doors open at 8am. Forms are available at the college switchboard or contact Tom Heck at 384-6384.  Boys and girls can also show up at the gym on July 21.

7.3 Cerro Coso Pays Tribute to Dr. Alex Shlanta
The Dr. Alex Shlanta Astronomical Observatory was dedicated in May 2006 and is named in honor of Dr. Alex Shlanta who's dedication, management and unfailing efforts have brought multiple astronomy domes and telescopes to Cerro Coso, expanding the hands-on experience for numerous students and for community members alike. 6.30 myBanWeb Outage tonight 6-30
The myBanWeb system will be unavailable starting 4:00pm, Monday, June 30 and will be back online by 6am, Tuesday July 1.  This downtime is in order to complete the Finance System Year End processes.
   
6.26 South Kern Office Closed June 30 – July 4
The South Kern campus office will be closed from Monday, June 30th thru July 4th. Classes at South Kern will be in session. If you require assistance, please call the Indian Wells Valley campus. See Office Directory
   
6.25 Bookstore Closed for Inventory June 30-July 3rd
The Bookstore will be CLOSED next week, June 30 – July 3rd, 2008 for Year End Inventory.  We hope to be able to open up Monday, July 7th in the morning.  We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
   
6.23 Transcripts & Admissions Faxes
If you sent a fax to the Admissions & Records office between 6pm on June 19th and 7am on June 23rd you fax was not received and you will need to resend your fax. We apologize for any inconvenience.
   
6.16 myBanWeb System Outage CONTINUED
There were some unexpected technical difficulties during the myBanWeb System planned upgrade this weekend, and unfortunately the system is not up as planned as a result. The problem is being addressed and we hope to have the problem solved as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.

6.2 Grades & Transcripts Notice
Please note that while final grades may have been distributed by faculty members and may be available via the myBanWeb system, the system must still undergo a process of doing district-wide calculations before grades are rolled into academic history, which will occur May 29th. Therefore, we are unable to process rush requests for transcripts until June 2nd.

5.22 Students Eligible for New Osher Foundation Scholarship
With a record-breaking $70 million donation to California Community Colleges, the San Francisco-based Bernard Osher Foundation has created scholarships at each of the 109 community colleges in California, including Cerro Coso Community College. [more]
   
5.16 Summer Office Hours (Updated)
The summer office hours for May 19-August 1, 2008 for the IWV and KRV campuses are Monday-Thursday, 7am to 6pm, closed Fridays. The Library is open M-Th, 9am until 9pm. The South Kern campus will be open Monday-Thursday 7am to 5pm, closed Fridays. ESCC Mammoth Campus offices will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.. 5.7 Summer Office Hours
The summer office hours for May 19-August 1, 2008 for the IWV and KRV campuses are Monday-Thursday, 7am to 6pm, closed Fridays. The Library is open M-Th, 9am until 9pm. The South Kern campus will be open Monday-Thursday 7am to 5pm, closed Fridays. ESCC hours TBA.
   
5.7 Cerro Coso to Administer Placement Exams
In preparation for the summer and fall terms, and for student convenience, the IWV Campus, located in Ridgecrest will be administering the College Placement Exams in May and June. [more]
   
5.6 Scheduled Network Outage May 6 from 10pm-12am
There will be a scheduled network outage, Tuesday, May 6th from 10:00pm to midnight to perform some critical technical repairs to our district network. All Cerro Coso servers will be unavailable, including myBanWeb, email, and class servers during this time.

4.30 iTV Classes Cancelled and Phone Lines down at Bishop and Mammoth
Due to fiber optic lines being cut accidentally by an external company working in the area, all interactive television classes have been cancelled for April 30th. The Bishop and Mammoth campuses are also without phone service due to the accident.  We appreciate your patience and understanding and we hope to resume normal services as quickly as possible.

Yesterday at approximately 7:50 p.m. Cerro Coso Security saw a male walking with what appeared to be a rifle near the Library.  The security officer shouted for him to stop and the individual immediately fled. [more]

3.24 CSU, Bakersfield “On the Spot Admissions Day” Thursday, April 3, 2008 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
CSUB representatives will be on the Cerro Coso (IWV) campus to provide on the spot admissions for Fall to eligible transfer students.  If you are interested, please contact the Counseling Desk at (760) 384-6219 to schedule a 20 minute appointment with the CSUB Rep.  Please have your admissions application completed and bring copies of your transcripts (unofficial are okay for evaluation purposes).  The admissions application can be completed at www.csumentor.edu.
   
3.19 ESCC Campuses Closed March 24-28
The ESCC Campuses, Bishop and Mammoth, will be closed the week of Spring Break, March 24 to the 28th. Please call the IWV campus if you require assistance, (760) 384-6100.

2.21 South Kern Office Closed Feb. 25 – March 3
The South Kern campus office will be closed from Monday February 25th and reopen Monday March 3rd.  The Cerro Coso counselor, Jon Tittle, will be in the office Monday February 25 and Wednesday February 27 from 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. for appointments.
