Coyotes extend streak to six, then split with Chaffey
The Cerro Coso Coyotes, riding a five-game winning streak and a wave of confidence, hosted the Chaffey College Panthers in a Saturday afternoon doubleheader at the Dawg Yard. The games were long and action-packed. and both teams came away with one victory when it was all said and done; the Coyotes won the opener 8-5, but dropped a 17-7 decision in the nightcap. The Center for Digital Education and the American Association of Community Colleges named the nation's top digital community colleges in the second annual Digital Community Colleges Survey. Cerro Coso Community College tied for 5th for Mid-sized/Suburban community colleges in the nation.

Cerro Coso Email/Online Form System Down: Any email address ending in cerrocoso.edu is experiencing email difficulties. If your instructor is using a Cerro Coso email address, they may not be able to send or receive any email. The system is expected to be up sometime this afternoon. This will also affect any online exams that will require the results to be sent to a Cerro Coso email address. This also affects the our online contact forms. To contact the Webmaster, please call (760) 384-6271. The online exams affected and the Contact/ Webmaster form will be back up later today. We apologize for the inconvenience.

(.25¢), you can purchase paper back books or for fifty cents (.50¢) you can purchase hard back books from the library. Library hours are 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The Child Development Center will be closed on Thursday and Friday August 12 & 13, 2004 for an in-service training involving preparation and organization for the upcoming Fall semester and staff team building.

Dedications Planned for New Solar Field and Learning Resource Center at Cerro Coso Community College
The newly constructed Solar Photovoltaic Field and the new Learning resource Center (LRC) will both be formally dedicated on Friday, October 8, 2004 in Ridgecrest, California. The dedication for the Solar Photovoltaic Field will take place at 10 a.m. The Learning Resource Center dedication will take place a few hours later at 1:15 p.m. Read more...

The ASCC is pleased to announce the Saul Kaye Band will be coming to Cerro Coso, Friday, October 8th, at 7:00 in the Lecture Center. College Closed to the Public September 24th for Staff Development
On Friday September 24, 2004 the college will be closed for staff development training. All offices will be closed and no classes will be held. Office hours and classes will resume as normal on Monday, September 27, 2004.

College and University Night
The 24th Annual College and University Night will take place on Tuesday, September 28th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the IWV Student Center. This event is held each fall and includes representatives from the CSU and UC systems, several private colleges, many of the branches of the Armed Forces, as well as many of the Cerro Coso departments and programs. All students interested in transferring are encouraged to attend.

Extended Tutoring Times
The LAC has extended the tutoring times Monday through Thursday until 10:00 pm as well as, 8:00 am to 5 pm on Fridays. For questions, or to be set up for tutoring, contact Sherri Windish in the Learning Resource Building Rm. 704, or call 384-6161.

UC Application Workshop
Applying to the UC System? Come and get assistance with the application for UCSD, UCSB, UCLA and UC Santa Cruz, or help with personal statement and to have your questions answered. CSU Application Workshop
10/26/04, LRC 604, 12 NOON TO 1 PM
Students will receive information on the Application process, general timelines and requirements; watch a demonstration of the online application. CSU system schools are transitioning to a “paperless” application process. Their goal is to eliminate printing the application forms by Fall of 2005!  This event is co-sponsored by the TRiO and Student Learning and Counseling offices. Material will be presented by Yolanda Vasquez, Director of TRiO Services and Jan Moline, Counselor.

Deborah Liv Johnson Concert
The A.S.C.C. is hosting a concert featuring Deborah Liv Johnson, Saturday October 23, 2004 in the Cerro Coso Lecture Center at 7:30 pm. Tickets may be purchased at Lou's Hallmark, the Student Activities office, Room 248 or at the door. Price of the tickets are $10.00 General Public; $5.00 with a current ASB card & children under 12. The artist will bring some of her recordings for those who wish to purchase them. CD's sell for $15 and tapes for $10. For this event Junior and Senior high school students from our service area are invited to Cerro Coso for a tour of the campus, an opportunity to learn about our programs, departments, and majors, with a luncheon served. Nutcracker Ballet (South Kern)
Cerro Coso Community College will be hosting two performances of the Nutcracker Ballet, Saturday, December 4 at 8:00 PM and Sunday, December 5 at 2:00 PM in the Mojave High School Gym at 15732 “O” Street in Mojave. Tickets can be purchased at the Cerro Coso Office at Edwards Air Force Base, Mojave Movement Arts Center, Gardner Realty in Mojave, and at the Mojave Gym one half hour prior to the show. Annual Turkey Trot
There will be a 3-mile “Fun - Run/Walk” on the trails above the College on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 25th. This event is open to the public. Burn off those calories before you eat that turkey! Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. in the College Parking Lot. The fee is $1.00. A Midsummer Night’s Dream
The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival will perform William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Tuesday, November 30th at 3:00 pm and at 6:00 pm in the Cerro Coso Lecture Center. The creative and satirical plot, involving two sets of couples whose romantic intentions are further complicated and confused by their encounters in an enchanted wood, is readily accessible to students at all levels. Community Choir Holiday Concert
On Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 7:30pm Cerro Coso Community College will present the Community Choir Holiday Concert in the Lecture Center. Admission is free and the public is invited to join Cerro Coso Community College and fellow community members in celebrating the holiday season. Holiday themed songs will be sung as well as a sing-along session.

Narnia Musical
The CCCC Drama Department will present the musical NARNIA on Friday, December 10th and Saturday, December 11th at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, December 12th at 2:00 p.m. in the CCCC Lecture Center. Tickets are $6 for general admission and $5 for students, seniors, and military. Children 13 and under accompanied by an adult get in for $3. Tickets are available at the CCCC Business Office and at Lou's Hallmark.  Narnia is based on THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE by C. S. Lewis. NARNIA is quite an ambitious undertaking and the drama students have really been working all semester long to bring this production to life. Please come out and support our drama students, and enjoy a whimsical night out!

Planned Server Outage for CCCC Website and Online Classes ATTENTION
Due to needed relocations of our server systems it is necessary to take our online class/web/email servers offline for a brief period of time. A shutdown period beginning on Saturday, December 11th at 5:00am and ending on Sunday, December 12th at 12:00pm has been planned. This will affect access to the Cerro Coso website, email, and Online classes. If you attempt to access your online class or this website during this time period you will receive a Page Not Found error message. This will affect your ability to register for courses during the outage time, so please plan accordingly. We apologize for any inconvenience.
