Free Film "Osama"
The film Osama will be shown on campus Friday, April 30th 3-5 p.m. and Saturday, May 1st, 7-9 p.m. Osama is a Golden Globe winning film based on a true story of survival of women under the Taliban in Afghanistan. The film is free and open to all. Students, staff, friends, families and community members are encouraged to attend. This event is sponsored by ASCC.

Don was nominated by instructor Christine Swiridoff, along with the support of instructors Dean Bernsten, Cliff Davis, Jim Manion, and John Stenger-Smith. The Alumni Board members and invited guests will be honoring Don at an awards luncheon on April 28, 2004 in recognition of his dedication and many academic achievements. The Alumni Association would like to congratulate Don and thank the Cerro Coso faculty, at all sites, for their nominations.

The Cerro Coso Coyotes baseball team was disappointed that they weren't selected for the state community college playoffs, but the team found reasons to smile Tuesday night, as they celebrated a successful campaign with an awards dinner at Sizzler. Read more...

Baseball Team Members get recognition
The Cerro Coso Men's Baseball Team had several players chosen for all conference selections. Most noteworthy was Ryan Penn who was selected as the Foothill Conference Player of the Year.
Penn who saw time as a pitcher, infielder and outfielder was recognized for his efforts by being named as the Conference Player of the Year. Ryan has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Fresno State next year. The Bulldogs are a top Division 1 program.

Other Coyotes who were recognized by the conference were:

   ● Antoine McLeod: First Team all Conference
   ● Darren Green: Second Team all Conference
   ● Kip Keith: Second Team all Conference
   ● Tony Teixeira: Second Team all Conference

Congratulations to Head Coach Dick Adams and Assistant Coach Chris O'Brian and all of the Coyote players for a great season. They represented our college with class and dignity.

Coyote Boys Grades 2 – 12th July 26-30
Coyote Girls Grades 2 - 12th August 9-13
8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
(Doors open at 8 a.m. for drop-offs)
The camp will be conducted by Cerro Coso’s Women’s Basketball head coach Tom Heck and Immanuel Christian Varsity Boys head coach Allan Celestine. Camp fee is $70.00 (includes Camp T-shirt). Introducing a new LVN-ADN program!
The program is an LVN to RN/ADN Distance Education Program via Interactive TV (ITV) through Bakersfield College and Cerro Coso Community College in collaboration with Ridgecrest Regional Hospital. Those interested must currently hold an LVN license and have completed all prerequisites prior to the start of the nursing courses. The start date for the classes will be Fall 2005. The course will be complete at the end of the Spring Semester 2006.

Fire Mountain Foundation Drawing
The Fire Mountain Foundation is having a drawing for 2 tickets to the 2004 Bakersfield Business Conference being held on October 9th. The tickets are valued at $650. The drawing will be on September 18th at the annual IWV Community Dinner. Winner does not need to be present to win. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased by contacting Sharon Girod in Room 132 (Main Building, 1st Floor), email sgirod@cerrocoso.edu or by calling 384-6223.

Baseball Team Christmas Tree Fundraiser
Each year the Cerro Coso Baseball team sells fresh-cut, top-quality Christmas trees as an annual fundraiser. If you are interested in support Coyote Baseball feel free to download the order form and return the completed form to Coach Adams by October 29th. There are several types of trees to choose from and wreathes and garlands are also available. Pick-up date is Saturday, December 4th. See order form for full details.

This is a fundraising program, which is tax deductible, and best of all, supports your schools student athletes. You will receive a full refund if you are not completely satisfied.  Profits from the first 11 years played a significant financial role towards the building of our press box, snack bar, batting cages, and purchase of the scoreboard. With our current budget, we must use these profits for supplies (bats, balls, helmets, catchers gear, etc.). We appreciate your support.

Cerro Coso Community College will be hosting two performances of the Nutcracker Ballet, Saturday, December 4 at 8:00 PM and Sunday, December 5 at 2:00 PM in the Mojave High School Gym at 15732 “O” Street in Mojave. Tickets can be purchased at the Cerro Coso Office at Edwards Air Force Base, Mojave Movement Arts Center, Gardner Realty in Mojave, and at the Mojave Gym one half hour prior to the show. CCCC to Hold Driver Education Class in Kern River Valley
Cerro Coso Community College Kern River Valley Campus is offering Driver’s Education as a Community Education course beginning on January 5, 2005 through February 2, 2005. Classes will be held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Kern Valley High School. There is a class fee of $35 and you may register at the Cerro Coso Community College Kern River Valley Campus located at 5520 Lake Isabella Blvd. Prospective students must register for this class by December 16, 2004. Accomplishments this school year for the ASCC include, but are not limited to, showcasing a concert by the Saul Kaye Band and attending two student government leadership conferences. Congratulations S.V.N. Graduates of 2004
December 17, 2004 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Cerro Coso Lecture Center, (Room 250 MB). The public is welcome to attend. A reception hosted by the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Ridgecrest Regional Hospital follows in the Student Center from 7 to 8 p.m. The 12 Cerro Coso Student Vocational Nurses have worked hard and diligently for 18 months in their quest of learning their profession of nursing. The Nightingale Ceremony is a tradition that is viewed with pride by the graduates, their families, and friends. Members of the healthcare community, guest speakers and the SVN instructors will participate in the ceremony. Many individuals from the college faculty and staff assisted in each student’s path to success. Cerro Coso Community College would like to congratulate each and every graduate of a job well done.
